we arrived to a huge queue already waiting patiently..as we set up , the queue quadrupled in size and they just kept on coming.
The team were unfazed and methodical, setting up as quickly as possible, and keeping all food and safety guidelines in place , especially essential with such s large crowd.
Music on and we began..
not to wet but certainly freezing, we served some really hearty soul food, hot puddings, homebakes, and much more , with a huge choice of nothing hot snd cold refreshments, including Yfood meal in a bottle and some pocket size fruit shoots , thanks to Link Communication, Christophè Measor/staff/Anthony Mckeown.
seriously, the food plus food bank and surplus, was gone in an hour , with Pizzapizza turning up to fill any late comers ..a job exceptionally well done by all volunteers.
fun time came as we done our raffle and then gave families that struggle some great freebies household items from our In Kind table ..
The whole event was outstanding 👏
more pics and lists of warm items were snapped up, much love and Gratitude to sll that donated ❤️
Eileen’s emergency packs flew out and lindas flapjacks simply disappeared hahaha 😆..
off course its a sad event , we know this , but its part of our job to make it a happy one , bring a little bit of happiness to another horrible day on the streets or going home and struggling, trying to make ends meet, for some people, our events are actually the only social life they have …so its a bit of an all rounder .
Thankuou to this amazing team , to all that donated and to all that attended with such dignity and patience..
as always , much love to the brothers at Pizzapizza and a big hug to Nandos for a huge donation of chicken for our next feed ❤️
