Sundays are nuts , leading up to and even the event , busy busy busy , but absolutely beautiful 😍, this week was exceptionally nice , lots of smiles and stories .
over the past 3 weeks , we have helped to complete furnishings for 5 people and am currently on another , and gained 2 volunteers, who we will continue to help with managing their new homes and lifestyle..from homeless to a home , can be daunting, lonely and a strain on some people as they wait on endless waiting lists for items to make a home , pay bills , be excepted in a new community..this is a tough transition that requires a lot of love and structured support.
people depend on us for items to fulfil a happy expectation of what should happen, so it’s always awesome when we have been donated household essentials and bedding/curtains to complete the homes we’ve helped put together ❤️ many come to foodbank and fill their cupboards, as well as grabbing starter kits from our InKind table , toilet rolls, cleaning products and toiletries as well as a great selection of good for their cupboards and often pets ..
As for our homeless guests , they just enjoy catching up , getting fresh food, clean undies , a great essential pack , made by Eileen from donations and items that we purchase from In Kind ..as well as new footwear , tents , sleeping bags and yummy home bakes , few cuddles are always there when needed and of course a listening ear ..
