Wednesday Outreach

The effort that went into tjis evenings outreach was Magnificent, from collections, donations to finding drivers, with personal problems put to one side and personal hardship swayed for the good of people less fortunate…this team, all of them , present and absent are all truly selfless …everyone has mucked in on what I think they will all agree , has been challenging for all of us …BUT WE MADE IT …and again we had a successful outreach…clothing from all over was so appreciated…lots of warm stuff came in from as far as Pontefract…tracked in by Darren Howson, and Knitted hats on my garden fence just in time by June Walton…even Alderman Richard Lewis popped in with some bakery goods from sainsbury Pudsey , Charlie with the Pret and Lauris with the dog…hahaha, some weren’t coming, for personal reasons and then did …we absolutely, totally mucked in and got the job done…
Cooks tonight were The Bearded Sailor, darling Jane and Adrian and Patricia Sutcliffe as well as Helping Hands UK Kitchen…and was complimented all round , thankyou guys..mwah , Drivers Adrian, Andy and of course my Eileen, got everything there followed by flying solo Morgan after a jog ..as you do hahaha.. Diane, Abi ,Jenny, Tyerel and Lauris were all present and super attentive …one great team,…
To everyone that sourced food and foot soldiered all over to get in food and donations…Thankyou all for being you xxx

Sadly 1 guy was seen as we left ..hidden in plain sight ..cocooned in a sleeping bag , on the cold hard floor bang smack in the center of town..refused a place in the night shelter and literally left out in the cold with an upto 48 hour wait for the council outreach…it leaves me wondering, where has the duty of care gone …to be told to stay there till they come, is truly bizarre…I did speak to the guy, and he said he was just going to wait for them…obviously I made him a bit more comfy with a yoga mat and duvet and made sure he was fed and watered , took his blood oxygen levels and made sure there was no immediate medical concerns..gave him a hug and said goodnight and godbless …coming away was sad and hard ..but something we are seeing more and more of …so thankyou for the support we recieve so that we can make life a bit easier, make sure they are fed , they have clean clothes and are able to address any urgent fresh dressings needed …god bless you all for that …
THANKYOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT..HHUK
